The cushioned ceramic friction discs are similar to spring-loaded ceramic kits in that they have a spring-loaded hub to absorb the impact load, they also have a small amount of cushioning between the two friction surfaces on the disc, giving them better pedal modulation. These kits are designed for low speed testing where pedal feel is important but the high temperature capability of a ceramic disc is also beneficial..
